Attack of the Killer Blahs

I deleted the bitchy post. Sorry if you hunted for it...

I subbed my first write 1 / sub 1 entry: "The Good Daughter" (which, technically, is a piece of sci fi). Only 51 more to go...

I've received several rejections in the past few days and am growing tired of them.

A reader on Goodreads called The Bottom Feeders "mediocre horror stories" and gave it two stars. I wish the slam was more interesting.

How is your day?

Ha! I just did my rejection post and then I read yours. They're out to kill us...trust no one. :D

Oh and not everyone can love your stories (which of course you'll remember when you put down the knife - please, put down the knife) but remember there's a lot of us who do.

Rejections? Who cares. Bring them on, baby. Bring them on. *manic laugh*

Small prize to the writer who gets, what? 5 in one day?

Bring them on.

A chocolate-related prize, so actually worth winning.

Cate - You know what they say about great minds...I wonder what they say about minds like ours...

Debs - I think I've had at most three in a day. They usually don't sting--but I feel like being a baby today. Five? I'll see what I can do.

I hate criticism that doesn't point out the specific problem. But I understand that some things are subjective, and can't be explained. Which is why I say don't take the two stars to heart. Not every reader can fall in love with every story, and you are a GREAT writer. So let's see a smile : )

Don't make me send DJ Ozma after you...

Kitten kill!

I guess it really is the season for rejection. Half the population getting dumped before Xmas, the other half piling up rejections after Xmas.

Wonderful holiday cheer for everyone.

Is it wrong of me to be glad I'm in good company? I received 3 rejection letters yesterday (gotta love Mondays), one from an editor who called my work "hackneyed." Not the best way to start the week, but I'm over it. Now.

I got one before Christmas! I felt so humiliated I didn't even want to tell anyone. But since we're all here at Rejection Letters Anonymous I feel safe in sharing.

Anyone got a smoke?

Oh, I really want to see the bitchy post.

Thanks, Nat. I'm a whiny fuck today, aren't I?

Gef - That kitten scares me a little. More so that he/she has decided to use the knife rather than the assault rifle.

Ouch, Milo. I have a similar rejection in the folder somewhere. The pain is temporary.

Cathy - My name is Aaron, and I have a rejection...

(and the bitchy post was really just silly...the cat says it all)
