Third Time is the Charm

I'm in Kansas City today, pacing a waiting room while Aimee has sinus surgery for the third time. She had the first operation five months before we were married, the second about a year before Max's birth, and now, the third. Different doctors each time; this one is supposed to be the best in the area. I hope the surgery helps because the poor woman has been suffering with chronic infections for most of the past year.

On a less important, but much weirder, note, Gary Sump makes another appearance at Everyday Weirdness today. This time, he tells his side of the story about the little people in his backyard. Hopefully he comes across as at least the slightest bit sympathetic (or just plain pathetic). The piece is aptly titled, "Gary Sump is an Angry God". Enjoy.

I wish her luck with the surgery. They give them cocaine for that if I remember right. At least they used to. Going to read the story. . . now.

Best of luck with the surgery.

Also, I dig the story...a very nice companion for the first one. And while I will admit, I prefer the first tale, this one has its own humorous yet dark merits. Well done!

Good Luck with the wife! And I really liked that story. Great idea!

And I just read "Gary Sump's Hidden City" as well. I want more. More!

That's a great companion piece to the other story! I love seeing the events from the other guy's point of view.

I hope your wife's surgery goes well.

First off, the best of luck to your wife.

And second, :raps fingernails against desk: no receptionist is ever, and I stress that, ever overpaid. And I'm sure Gary deserved the sarcasm. Humph! Besides that, I loved this second little tale.

I hope everything went well for your wife. And I liked the story. Why do I smell a third installment from the little peoples' POV coming soon? :-)

Thanks for the sentiment, everyone. Aimee's doing fine.

Cate - I am with you 100%. Our school would fall apart without the receptionist. Too bad Gary is such a jerk. :)

Robert - That was the original plan, I just can't make the little people talk. ;)

Best to Aimee...

Good story; I love those other-side-of-the-coin stories, I think life has a lot more of those moments than people explore in literature.
