October was Made for This...

Here in northeast Kansas, October is truly the finest month of the year. The air cools, the leaves began to fade into their fall pageant, and Halloween looms at the end of the month. Joy!

October also brings one of the best perks of being an English teacher. One of my classes will read The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson, I'm putting together a reading packet with stories by Poe, Lovecraft, and Derleth, and I need to write sentences for vocabulary words like morbid, emaciated, grotesque, and pestilence. What fun!

Issue 4 of Necrotic Tissue is out, a super-duper double-sized whopping of horror, featuring my story, "Catalog Sales".

Macabre Cadaver #3 is also available, with my horrid little resurrection, "Dinner".

Bon Appetit!

I look forward to reading both.

Thank you for the comments on my story. I will never look at ants in my kitchen the same way thanks to you. Am downloading the 'Tissue' right now. Have fun in Shirley Jackson mode.

Just read 'Dinner' - another winner, Aaron.

I've got a pdf of Necrotic Tissue waiting for me to read as soon as I get off work. Can't wait to read yoru story! As they've rejected me on a couple occassions, it'll be cool to read what they actually do accept (which, granted, is somethign I probably should have done before I submitted in teh first place).

Read "Catalog Sales" last night, enjoyed it very much. Thanks for the good read. And it sounds like you're teaching the class I always wanted!
