You're Sh#tting Me?

Japanese author Koji Suzuki (um, remember The Ring?) has penned a "novella" that is published on a roll of toilet paper.

...and I'm worried about print vs. online publishing?

Read the AP story here.

I saw this. I thought it was kind of clever, good to see new ways for people to have there work read.

Though my concern is what if the person before you uses the toilet and uses the bit you were up to?

Toilets in Japan were traditionally tucked away in a dark corner of the house due to religious beliefs. Parents would tease children that a hairy hand might pull them down into the dark pool below. Another weird freaking reason to love the Japanese!

I heard them discussing this on the radio yesterday. You know what would happen though...each time you use the biffy there would be no paper as all the horror fans in the office will have had a quick visit and swiped all the pages they need to read Suzuki's story.

Sad but true: the first thing I thought of when I read this was what kind of toilet paper it is.

That's taking disposable manuscripts to a new level.

it is kind of taking the term 'house library' a little too seriously.

Haha, I read this in the newspaper! I'd totally get it. I loved Ringu.
